Step 2...Option Chain Analysis

OptionStation's analysis window allows you to compare and analyze puts and calls by letting you view them side by side for equity options, index options and futures options. But there's much more to it than that…

You can open multiple simultaneous OptionStation analysis windows on different underlying assets all updating in real-time. See real-time bid-ask prices across regional exchanges, real-time theoretical and implied volatilities, and real-time position information. You can track multiple option positions, including positions that include the underlying asset. Monitor real-time alerts based on built-in or custom criteria, customize your window with dozens of option analysis columns, and sort and rank options by any criteria. You’ll also get the added flexibility of being able to choose from a variety of built-in, industry standard theoretical option pricing models.

In addition to the side-by-side view, OptionStation Analysis provides expandable rows to view the calls and puts for specific expiration dates or all expiration dates. Plus, positions are represented in the Position section where each position has a main summary row that displays the data for the entire position and is expandable to show a row for each leg of the position. So you have all the data you need in one convenient place.

Sliding Option Chains
Maintain the exact option symbols defined by your strike and expiration based on the current date and price of the underlying asset. As the price of the underlying asset moves throughout the day, the OptionStation window automatically and continuously adds options as needed to the window to display the options that meet your symbol proximity settings—keeping you in tune with the markets.

Spread Chain Views
Spread Chains are available in OptionStation Analysis allowing you to quickly scan multiple spreads, such as, all of the June, October and December Vertical Call Spreads or all of the October/December, December/March Calendar Put Spreads to quickly identify the best trading opportunities.

Hundreds of Built-In Analysis Indicators
With over 100 pre-written Indicator columns included, all written in EasyLanguage, OptionStation is fully equipped to help you analyze and track any option with in-depth precision. Each column in the window is an indicator that can be used to analyze and monitor your positions. Using these models, you'll evaluate whether or not an option is over- or under-valued, risks, and the possible future worth of a position based on your outlook of price, time and volatility.

Plus with SmartStyling you can color-code each cell to change dynamically as the market shifts
For example, if you'd like to see a group of options ranked by implied volatility, but you'd also like to quickly identify which ones are above or below the weighted average of all volatilities, you will be able to have OptionStation color code the cells for the options that meet the criteria.

Once you've analyzed your options, you can use the Position section to analyze your theoretical positions…

Indicators available in the Asset Section of OptionStation Analysis include:
Model Volatility of Asset displays the modeled volatility as a percent of all of the options, which is used for calculating option charts, theoretical option values, and Greek risk measures.
Average Implied Volatility displays the average Put volatility and average Call volatility as a percent for all of the options in the window.

Put-Call Volume displays the total Put and Call trade volume for all of the options in the analysis window, either on an intra-day or daily basis.

Put Call Ratio will give you real-time put/call ratios for the options in your analysis.

And here's just a sample of the indicators included to help you analyze and compare options:
MIV on Bid/Ask columns will display the actual market implied volatility for the real-time bid and ask information for all options across all regional exchanges.

Percent to Double will plot the percentage movement the underlying asset must move in order to double the current price of each option.

Search Call or Search Put will show the best Call or Put to buy at any moment based on your custom market assumptions.

Delta will show you the expected change in the price of the option contract due to a 1-point change in the price of the underlying asset.
Theta represents the change in an option premium for the passage of 1 day of time.

Vega relates to volatility and shows you the change in an options price due to a 1-percent increase in volatility.

Gamma shows you the expected change in delta due to a 1-point change in the price of the underlying asset.

Covered Call-Put will help you analyze covered call or put positions by plotting the simple annual return at current price, simple annual return for maximum gain, probability of profit and probability of maximum gain. By sorting on any of these fields, you can rank the best-covered position for the current asset.

Probability IT Money uses a calculation to determine whether an option contract will be in-the-money at any time during the option contract period or at expiration.

And Many More…

Determine the statistical volatility level and statistical probability of price movement over any period of time you define with the new TradeStation Probability Calculator. The output from the probability calculator includes the 1st, 2nd and 3rd standard deviations of price movement from the current price level, and the probability of finishing between or beyond the one or two targets you choose. You can use this information to determine a trading strategy that provides the best expected return based on your price projection.
