| Answering these tough questions—and countless others like them—is what the benefits of options trading are all about. But many traders overlook the advantages of trading options because they believe it's too complex. In the past, knowing which positions to take, and how much to pay for an option, involved complex mathematical calculations and formulas that most traders didn't know or have the resources to perform. Options trading packages available were either powerful, but just as complex as doing manual calculations, or incredibly simplistic, but lacking valuable analysis features. |
It simplifies the process so that beginners and seasoned options traders alike can analyze and evaluate their option positions easier than before—but it also includes the powerful capabilities necessary to make your equities, index, and futures options analysis complete.
OptionStation is an advanced options scanning and analysis tool that gives you the ability to scan a universe of option symbols to locate the best positions based on your market outlook. Then, further analyze those positions with real-time price data on the underlying asset and all associated options, including LEAP symbols. Utilizing the power of EasyLanguage®, OptionStation gives you the flexibility to customize your analysis. You can now write your own option analysis indicators and apply them to real-time data, as well as create and modify Pricing Models and Volatility Models, or choose from a variety of built-in, industry standard theoretical option pricing models.
The OptionStation Analysis window is your options trading control center. Here, you'll be able to customize your window with dozens of option analysis columns, monitor strategies in real time or end-of-day, set built-in or custom alerts so that you're notified when the market is moving in your direction and track your strategy's profit and loss. All the information you need is organized into three sections:
The Asset section gives you real-time price analysis of the underlying asset, as well as access to the cumulative options data for price, implied volatility, and put-call volume.
The Option section gives you real-time option price analysis, including bid-ask prices, implied volatilities, Greek risk measures, and probability information.
The Position section allows you to monitor multiple actual and theoretical positions in real-time, including positions that include the underlying asset, analyze risk-reward ratios, and analyze combined positions for potential position adjustments. It's designed to help you make more informed options trading decisions, and anticipate changes to your option positions under a variety of changing market conditions.
You can open multiple simultaneous OptionStation analysis windows on different underlying assets—all updating in real-time—and see bid-ask prices across regional exchanges and theoretical and implied volatilities. Then, when you're done with your analysis, and have chosen the position best suited to your trading requirements, execute your order with just a click of your mouse. OptionStation was originally designed by options traders for options traders, breaking down the basic tasks that most seasoned option traders perform into several easy steps…Position Search, Option Chain Analysis, Position Analysis and Position Charting.
