Fast, Reliable Streaming Real-Time Data

We understand that the speed and reliability of the data you receive directly affects your trading, so we’re committed to making sure that it’s fast and of the highest quality. By directly linking to many market centers, we provide you with the fastest possible access to real-time, streaming data. Plus, TradeStation continuously filters all incoming ticks to improve accuracy.

Direct Exchange Data Connections
The TradeStation Data Centers have direct connections to the American Stock Exchange, NYSE Arca (Archipelago), Bloomberg Tradebook, Chicago Board of Trade, Chicago Mercantile Exchange, Nasdaq, New York Stock Exchange, International Securites Exchange, Chicago Board Options Exchange, Boston Options Exchange, Philadelphia Stock Exchange, New York Mercantile Exchage (NYMEX/COMEX), and OneChicago.

TradeStation Intelligently Filters Your Data
Market centers send data to TradeStation that sometimes do not coincide with current trading activity. TradeStation is designed to filter this data to remove trades of this type, so that such trades, which may be misleading, do not alter your Quotes or Hot List windows. For example, an "out of sequence" trade may come in that indicates a price higher or lower than the price at which the stock is actually trading. Because this trade appears to be "out of sequence," the time at which this trade was actually placed is probably unknown and, therefore, TradeStation removes it from the data. This trade is still valid, however, so it will still appear in the Time & Sales window and be flagged as "out of sequence."

Automated Support for Exchange Corrections
In order to provide you with more accurate data, the TradeStation Network now processes real-time insertion, deletion, and correction messages sent by the market centers. When such events occur, they are automatically applied to the data stored on our servers. This updated information is sent to the various windows within TradeStation such as Chart Analysis, RadarScreen, Quote, Matrix, Time & Sales, etc., so that any such messages that the exchanges send can quickly take effect in TradeStation.

Designed for Maximum Performance and Reliability*
The proprietary TradeStation Network was built to deliver the speed and reliability that we know is crucial to the active individual and institutional clients we serve. From direct electronic connectivity to trade execution avenues…to streaming real-time data…to gigabytes of historical data on demand, redundancy and scalability were built into the areas that affect performance the most—starting with the data center buildings.

State-of-the-Art, Mission Critical Data Centers
The TradeStation Network has hundreds of servers. The two data centers—built to house mission-critical operations, complete with climate-controlled, bunker-style buildings—are stored in two different geographical locations, Illinois and Texas. Security is monitored around the clock, with restricted-access technology that includes 24 x 7 uniformed guard services, closed-circuit television surveillance and palm readers to ensure only authorized persons enter the facilities. Naturally, power to the facilities is redundant and back-up generators stand ready in case of power grid outages. In addition, within the data centers, proprietary server farm architecture has been designed with the same level of redundancy and sophistication.

Proprietary Server Farm Architecture
The hundreds of servers that make up the server farm are designed with multiple back-up systems. A state-of-the-art "Status Monitor" constantly monitors the status of every server in the network, checking for constant connections. In the case of failure of any one server—either on a hardware level or software crash of any kind—your order should be immediately rerouted to another server in the network. And going even one step further, this extensive error-checking is backed by multiple, redundant data and execution lines.

Redundant Market Data and Trade Execution Lines
All connection lines to financial exchanges, ECNs and other electronic marketplaces are redundant as well, with load-balancing technology designed to manage traffic and avoid single points of failure. And with TradeStation's intelligent order-routing technology, if one market center is unavailable at the time your order is placed, your order should be automatically re-routed to the next available market center.

Plus, to help ensure that your data is delivered fast and on demand, each data connection line has access to bandwidth scalability which can exceed 175 times the capacity of a T-3 line. And TradeStation is able to dynamically send you only the specific symbol data you request on demand. This keeps the data packets small, which means you should receive the data at remarkably fast speed. Your strategies, charts, quotes, market depth screens and all your analysis tools are designed to update on your screen instantly, without the need to refresh your screen. And with a data integrity team constantly monitoring for bad data points, bad ticks, gaps, etc., you can concentrate more on trading and less on data maintenance.

ConnectionGuardTM Technology Helps Give You Constant Connectivity**
TradeStation's ConnectionGuard technology proactively monitors your constant connection to the TradeStation Network, continuously checking for active connectivity. If at any time a connection is not found, the TradeStation Network is designed to immediately and continuously attempt to re-establish a connection, and once successful, quickly update your market data and restore all interrupted trades and account messages sent by the TradeStation trade execution server. That means that if your connection to the TradeStation Network is interrupted for any reason, it's possible that you'll automatically be reconnected before you even realize the connection is lost.

We've Made Sure Your Data Is Portable As Well
The TradeStation Network is accessible anywhere and anytime you can log on to the Internet. You can even use your wireless modem, because TradeStation meets all wireless IP requirements. So you can log on at home, at the office or anywhere in the world and pull up your chart without missing a single tick. You can also choose to work on your strategies and chart analyses offline because the data that you request is automatically cached on to your hard-drive for offline access.
